Exclusive 5D4N expedition for zoo keepers, educators and citizen conservationists. Be immersed in the jungles and streams of one of the world’s oldest rainforests that is shared by exlusive yet endangered wildlife like tigers, leopards, elephants and tapir.

Provisional itinerary

 

Day 1:

  • Travel from Kuala Lumpur to Yu River Ecological Corridor
  • Introduction

Day 2:

  • CAT Walk and camera trapping with the indigenous Bateq people

Day 3:

  • Planting trees for tigers
  • CAT Walk and camera trapping with the indigenous Bateq people

Day 4:

  • Overnight CAT Walk with the indigenous Bateq people

Day 5:

  • CAT Walk with the indigenous Bateq people
  • Travel to Kuala Lumpur
 

A detailed itinerary is available upon request.


Participation fee
USD $1,600 per person (inclusive of all Malaysian tax).

Included are: all activities, entry and photography permits, guide fees, travel from Kuala Lumpur to Yu River Ecological Corridor and back, accommodation and all meals for the duration of the programme excluding alcohol, and contribution to the reforestation project.

Not included are: flight/travel to and from Kuala Lumpur, baggage charges, accommodation and meals in Kuala Lumpur, visas, vaccinations, medications, gratuities, personal items and expenses, phone calls and insurances.

Heading into the Realm of the Tiger

5 days in Malaysia: making tiger conservation real

The group included Woodland Park Zoo tiger keeper, Christine Anne, who had been eagerly preparing for this trip for what seemed like a long time. Christine knew this was an opportunity to see tiger habitat, learn about threats to their survival, discuss conservation solutions with tiger experts and meet local people sharing land with big cats.
